Tāne ora is about tāne tu, men developing and sharing knowledge as one, to hone the skills needed to carve out a pathway of your own choosing.

The Tāne Tū Programme helps Tāne (men) who are navigating personal challenges such as addiction, abuse, or anxiety. It provides a spiritual framework and practical tools to improve their lives and rediscover their gifts.

 

​Duration: 8 sessions per term over 9 weeks (with a break in between) with 4 Terms throughout the year.

 

Day/Time: Fridays, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

 

Location: Canterbury Men’s Centre, 21 Marshland Road, Christchurch

 

Each term consists with a central theme in accordance to the seasons. Maara kai food sovereignty is the current theme for summer. Learning skills around planting, seeds, creating your own home garden to connecting to community gardens throughout Christchurch. 

 

Connecting and utilizing great networks and resources to broaden knowledge and competency towards gardening.

TauhenaBonsai Club - Canterbury Men's Centre

The Tauhena Bonsai Club teaches about the history of Bonsai, NZ Natives, and creating your own Bonsai  to begin connecting to community initiatives throughout Christchurch.

Duration: 8 sessions per term over 9 weeks (with a break in between) with 4 Terms throughout the year.

 

Day/Time: Weds, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

 

Location:  Canterbury Men’s Centre, 21 Marshland Road, Christchurch

 

Each session we begin with a brief outlay of what Tauhena Bonsai therapy will consist of for the day today, which varies from tea ceremonies to learning about NZ natives that are used in Rongoā medicinal plant base medicine.

I am a dedicated practitioner committed to strengthening whānau, wellbeing, and community connection. With extensive experience in Whānau Ora navigation, traditional Māori healing, and men’s wellbeing facilitation, I provide a grounded, culturally informed approach to every space. my mahi blends practical support with kaupapa Māori values, creating pathways for healing, resilience, and personal transformation. Known for my calm presence and relational way of working, I support individuals to navigate life’s challenges with dignity, clarity, and purpose.

I was born and raised on the eastside of Christchurch, connected to Ōtautahi Sports association, Eastern Rugby league and lots of creative spaces and community groups/organisations.
